Biblical Giving

Give Cheerfully.  Give Wholeheartedly.  Give Obediently.

Malachi 3:10 says,

“’Bring the whole tithe into the storehouse, that there may be food in my house. Test me in this,’ says the Lord, ‘and see if I will not throw open the floodgates of heaven and pour out so much blessing that there will not be room enough to store it.’”

Note that this is the only place in scripture where God tells us to test Him. As a rule of thumb, we tithe 10% of our increase (Genesis 14:20). Offerings are considered a gift unto the Lord above and beyond our tithes. There is no set amount as to the giving of an offering. God is faithful to those who bless his house by blessing them.

Luke 6:38 says,

“Give, and you will receive. Your gift will return to you in full- pressed down, shaken together to make room for more, running over, and poured into your lap. The amount you give will determine the amount you get back.”

2 Corinthians 9:6-7 says,

“Remember this—a farmer who plants only a few seeds will get a small crop. But the one who plants generously will get a generous crop. You must each decide in your heart how much to give. And don’t give reluctantly or in response to pressure. “For God loves a person who gives cheerfully.”

He is not looking for our money, but our obedience and surrender to Him.

I just got saved.
