Seed to Multiply

For you have been born again, but not a life that will quickly end. Your new life will last forever because it comes from the eternal, living word of God.

1 Peter 1:23

In other words, when you do get saved, that is not the end of what God wants to do with you. It is only the beginning. Everything that God created, He created with seeds to multiply after its own kind.

We are to multiply followers of Christ! Many Christians are afraid to share their faith, afraid to get into the spiritual conversation with a non-believer because they don’t know the word. There is a chance that a non-believer may know more about the Bible than they do, or might ask a tough question, so they clam up.

You will run into “Christians”, not just baby Christians who have a reason not to know much, but men and women who have claimed to be followers of Christ for years, who know virtually nothing of what is in the Bible. If you are one of these, think about this, you are missing out a major portion of what Christ has to offer you and you are missing out on countless opportunities to share the Gospel!

Absorb the word in your spirit and have a firm grip on it so you can plant the seeds for the harvest. You have a job to do and it goes far beyond your initial believe in Christ! You are to work to bring in the harvest. The Bible tells us the harvest is great but the workers are few. We are to pray that the Lord will send workers into the harvest. Those workers aren’t going to be other people; they are going to be you and me!

Once we have received the good news, we have a responsibility to share the good news with others. God’s word gives us the power and boldness to be his witnesses.

Prayer: Heavenly Father, thank you for the potential that you put into each and every seed. That spark of life is just waiting for the right conditions to spring forth and yield a harvest. I pray that you would use me to bring in the harvest, use me to spread the seed of good news! In Jesus’ Name, amen.
